Forensic detectives with the Bergen County Sheriff's Bureau of Criminal Identification collected samples for analysis and examined the patterns of blood discovered on a row of SUVs and the sidewalk at the municipal garage on River Road early Thursday, April 27.

Meanwhile, borough police were scouring the area just off Route 7 for video and/or witnesses.

"We aren't sure what happened," North Arlington Police Chief Scott M. Hedenberg said. " There's blood on the ground and on several vehicles in the municipal lot but no victims or witnesses yet.

"We're canvassing the neighborhood," the chief said. "That's all we have at this point."

Firefighters washed down the scene as the investigation continued.
